After all, I remember having participated in a 1500m run for the first time in a quarter century. The result is a little over 5 minutes. It was more than a minute later than my PB. It was a fun 1500m.
In February, after the training program of the former Olympian Marayamauchi, I am happy to have increased my communication with new friends as well as running. Let's enjoy running next year. Please have a good year.
18th marathon. 5th of 6 world marahon majors. Tokyo, Chicago, Boston, New York, Berlin. 6th of 6 coming in 6 month in London.
Berlin has no direct flights from Japan. For that reason, it was routed to Helsinki and back through London. Helsinki Airport has been renewal opened in recent years and still construction is going on in some areas. Automatic immigration is the latest biometric authentication system. Since everyone is not used to using it, it actually takes a surprisingly long time. It may be smoother to guide the site a little better.
Now, I became 47 years old in September. According to a professor at the University of London, nowadays it seems to be 100 years rather than 80 years. The reality is that you don't know when your life will end. Rather than length, it is more important how you live your own healthy life expectancy. Anyway, I want to concentrate on running happily in Berlin this time.
The condition before the start of the morning of September 29th on the day of the marathon is 14 degrees Celsius and cloudy ☁️
I feel chilly compared to 27 degrees in Tokyo. It can be easily imagined that it will be quite cold if the rain and wind blows. Japan does not have 52 degrees north latitude. If you imagine, it is close to the image of a climate similar to Hokkaido.
The 18th marathon will be on the starting line with the least preparation so far. This Berlin Marathon is the first full marathon in half a year since the NYCM last November and Itabashi Marathon in March.
。Meanwhile, I have been preparing for the goal of running firmly for my mother in heaven. September 25 is my mother's memorial day. Two years are about to pass. I didn't talk much about that, but I needed time and effort to change the environment, thinking about various conflicts, reflections of life and the future. Thanks for the fulfilling days through work and sports with various people in various forms. Family, work colleagues, sports friends, and local friends. .
If we talk only about the marathon, NewYorkCityMarathon was the peak in November last year. It seemed to me that my thoughts about the United States, where I had many fun memories and opportunities for growth through my studies and especially sports, were strong. The joy of experiencing the joy of sports culture experienced at the age of 15 to 17 years after 30 years has been left as the most intense impression. It seems to me that yesterday that the Berlin Wall that separated East and West Germany collapsed in the fall of 1989 at that time. I remember a foreign student of the same age from Frankfurt, West Germany. I didn't dream of visiting Germany for a marathon, but it might be something to do in Berlin.
Now, I will briefly summarize the training up to the Berlin Marathon. April and May injuries. June lightly recovery Jog. Down with a cold in July. I have been practicing for only 6 weeks from August. From this situation, the past 17th marathon completion experience value is 3 hours 5 minutes at best. 3 hours 20 minutes at the worst. Running happily with a width of about 15 minutes. This is the Berlin Marathon goal.
To the starting area before 8:00am]
This time I chose poncho as in the previous NYCM, so I went to the start area without any luggage.
The excitement is similar to Chicago. Berlin isn't as tall as Chicago, but it's flat. The flat course has more corners than Chicago. Chicago is a counterclockwise course and Berlin is a clockwise course.
The support of roadside is supported everywhere by the band. The course is packed with highlights of Berlin. It's like a 42km city tour with drinks and snacks. You just have to run.
It started raining and the wind was blowing. Nearly hypothermic.
A nice shower run. No, it ’s pretty cold! It looks like a hot drink like Japanese barley tea and is a little sweet. This is also good. Because my body temperature has dropped too much, I stop at each aid and sip tea. delicious! Thank you! Danke Schoen! Bitte Shane! (^^ ♪
Especially at the end of the race, I stopped and chatted and gained power at all aid stations! Berlin is the best ~ ♪
[End 30km ~ Finish] Slowing down my pace from 30 km. The hamstring, then the base of the right leg, and the gluteus medius are convulsed many times and become unable to move. I have experienced rainy marathons many times, but I have never experienced so much exhaustion in the cold before the goal. The feeling of this body is the feeling of fatigue that has moved from Far East Asia for 20 hours! How many other than me have walked the Brandenburg Gate? Anyway, I walked firmly! !
(゚ Д ゚ щ) Camo! Tokyo! Satoshi! Thanks for spectators cheered me and pushed me to the goal. I feel I was mostcalm. I was overwhelmed by the energy level of the spectators. Such an experience is very unusual. Again, I was impressed. Thank you very much.
[After finishing] After completing the race, the medals were stamped with the name and completion time because of the cold, and they returned to the hotel immediately. Before that, we will return the measuring chip, but all are self-service! This is also a reasonable lol
My legs convulsed again and again, and it took me 15 minutes to unwind, and I finally unwound my shoelaces and returned the measuring tip. Wow. It's an excursion until I go home
Honestly, I was relieved that my mother was smiling from heaven, but I was walking toward the accommodations, and I walked forward to keep my heart warm in the cold.
[Local things] The overseas marathon is not only for running, but also for discovering and meeting new local discoveries and local specialties.
The charm of Berlin is world heritage architecture city tour
Catching up Really nice to catch up with Greta about Berlin and Japan.
I walked down the streets of Berlin all day and found Bauhaus books in the evening. It was a good price, but fortunately I was able to get it at half price during the sale at a special price. I took it home as a souvenir for my son interested in architecture.

Here are some of the things I noticed as an individual based on my experience of being evacuated to a refuge from Saturday 4pm to 6am the following day due to the typhoon. Of course, it is also true that there is a great influence on the mind and body before and after the evacuation.
I've decided to report out on typhoon 19th Hagibis than my world 6 marathon majors review while my memories from actual experiences evacuating from the flood nearby my place in Tokyo.

It was confirmed that this is a common item with the experience of climbing Fuji in July (I spent a night in a soaked 8.5th station that was swaying in the storm due to extremely severe weather conditions).
The following is a look back from a larger perspective
One of the natural changes brought about by the rapid economic development in the last 100 years
Strengthening the power of typhoons by rising water temperature due to global warming
Limitation of Tokyo centralized urban planning due to rapid economic growth
It goes without saying that the disasters in East Japan are very shocking and at the same time hurting and need continuous support activities. I want to contribute by practicing what I can do with my best.
Last but not least, the warm oden made by my wife was the most delicious.
Newspapers saying the end of Heisei era and start of Reiwa 1st of May 2019.
My first marathon was 2007 1st Tokyo Marathon it was 2-3 degrees with heavy rain in Feburary, 2007. It was Tokyo marathon before becoming world majors as of today.
Most of my PB was in Tokyo marathon such as in 2007, 2014. It took me 8 marathons to achieve sub 3 in Kobe marathon 2015 and Beppu Oita marathon 2016. Actually Beppu Oita was my attempt to sub 2:50 which was fine until passing 30km in 2:00 with 4 mins pace per km. I was feeling ok with relaxing mentaly and physically. However cramp stopped my race. Let's stop cramp, not the race. ;)
Now I've completed 17 marathons so far. My goal is 6 marjors with doing my best performance in every marathons. Honestly speaking I am quite sutisfied with completing Tokyo and 3 marathons in the U.S. with Chicago2016, Boston2017, NewYork2018. There is no easy marathon. It's not only about running 42.195Km distance. It's about the whole project journey from start to the end of every marathon.
With this, four of six completed. Berlin and London to complete 6 majors.
Again it is not only about running and it is about finding more insights through running in different place in the world. That is the beauty of enjoy running globally.
